Dave's RV Racing

Dave Pierce inside the Car Dave Pierce, owner of Daves Claremore RV, also runs the Dave’s RV Pro Mod Race Team. He is the main mechanic and driver of his new 1968 Camaro Pro Modified Drag car.
Dave became interested in drag racing as a teenager when his brother-in-law ran a B/Gas Corvette competitively at Englishtown, NJ. After serving his country for five years in the United States Air Force, he started racing a 1961 Corvette. Dave put racing on hold while he and his wife, Gloria, built their RV business and started a family. In 1987, he began Bracket racing after restoring a fire damaged 1984 Pontiac Firebird. A few years into his career, Dave stepped up his racing with a 1985 all-tube chassis Camaro. With the car rebuilt by Hollaway Racecars and a new 706 cubic inch engine, Dave joined the shoot-out ranks in the northeast Oklahoma area.

Dave's RV Racing's 1968 Camaro Nitrous Pro Mod at the ADRL Event in Houston TXWith the team’s 2001 pro-street Camaro built by Jerry Bickel Race Cars and a fair share of new car gremlins, Dave dominated the pro-street series at Ozark in 2003. He re-set the class record three times, finishing with a 4.28 in the eighth-mile track. This record remains to this day.

In 2004, Dave felt the need to go faster and joined the Out-law Pro-mod Class with two new engines: a 737 built by Sonny’s Racing Engines and a 704 built by Self Racing Engines, both with two stages of nitrous. The Dave’s RV team finished second in the point series at Ozark and set a personal Best of 6.52 - 213 MPH in the quarter mile at Thunder Valley Raceway, Noble, OK.

Dave's RV Racing's 1968 Camaro Nitrous Pro Mod at the ADRL Event in Houston TXThe 2005 season proved challenging for the Dave's RV team. After adding a third stage of nitrous on both engines, problems plagued the car for most of the race season. After several testing sessions, the problem seemed to be resolved. They went on to win the last two races of the year with a best ET and MPH of 6.52 at 213 mph. This made Dave's RV team the champions of the Midwest Outlaw Series.

In 2006, changes to the car and engines took place over the winter. The crew, lead by Crew Chief Jeff Pierce, assisted by Shane Sadler and Jim Adkison added two new crewmembers, Ryan Sadler and Kory Hindenburg to help with the added duties of running a High-powered Pro Mod. The 2006 season proved to be riddled with many Gremlins thought to have been resolved in the 2005 season. With the lows of 2006 there were some highs. The team set a new personal best ET of 6.41 and MPH of 218. They finished 4th in the Midwest Outlaw Series and received from fans and fellow racers the People’s Choice for Favorite Car of 2006.

Dave Pierce of Dave's RV Running against Rickie Smith New beginnings are again upon the Dave’s RV Race team with the arrival of a new 1968 Camaro Pro Mod built by Jerry Bickel Racecars. The 2010 season looks promising with an NHRA National Event in Tulsa, Several trips to ADRL National events and the many Local High Profile Pro Mod races on the schedule.

In Dave’s off time he enjoys racing ATVs, water sports, and attending NHRA events with his family. He resides in Claremore, OK with his wife Gloria, their daughter Stephanie, and son Jeff.
